The Frigid Bitch celebrated ten years of womens+ riding and racing in February 2023, and I brought out the Mamyiaflex for a quick portrait session as people wrapped up their time on course. Pittsburgh Babes on Bikes came about as a fundraiser back in 2010 and continued their organizing energy forward with events and outreach, creating the Frigid Bitch mid-winter women and under-repped gender identity alleycat in 2014, and a formal race team in 2023. Frigid Bitch X brought out well over 200 riders on an incredibly mild mid-winter day, with a smattering of the participants pictured here.
A note on those pictured: Much like when riding a bike on the sidewalk, as a CIS het white guy at this event I and the photo booth were a guest, and I wasn't actively soliciting portraits from people to respect boundaries and not to tokenize any person or group. Everyone pictured willingly came over and sat for a headshot and the gallery does not reflect the full diversity of the ridership of the Frigid Bitch. If you remember getting your picture taken but don’t see your headshot, it is lost to the mysteries of old cameras and mailaway labs.
